Rob Veschi’s “Mustang”

Rob Veschi’s Mustang is a sister car to the Challenger of Bob Stanford’s that we maintain.  It was built in the same manner by the folks at Ganassi with the same level of detail and craftsmanship.  The overall build and fabrication on these cars are top notch, but once they leave the doors at Ganassi it’s up to PAS to keep them running.

Rob brings us a few of his cars that he regularly tracks and this Mustang is no different.  After his first outing at VIR there were a few bugs to work out on this car.  For starters, on his 4th lap ever in the car, the shifter came off in his hand.  Little things such as that, and bigger things like running and tuning issues that we at PAS also had to handle on the Challenger.  Seems the boys at Ganassi built these cars with some used Super Speedway parts and the carbs weren’t too happy making right turns or being at anything less than wide open throttle.  After going thru the car the car was very responsive and made just about the same horsepower as the Challenger with a little over 700whp being on tap.  This is a very conservative tune as both of these motors have made around 830rwhp in the past at a full race trim.

The car was built by Ganassi, the body work is a Roush Composite Nationwide 2010 Mustang, the running gear is all Yates.  It’s a Frankenstein of NASCAR bigwig shops, and it’s 100% badass.

Here is a few videos of it on the dyno.
