Chris Matthews – Techinician / Fabricator

Chris Matthews came to PAS in early 2009 with a very impressive resume and every day he proves to us he knows how to do more and more.  His background in crewing for a late model/stock car for several years gives Chris a huge amount of experience when it comes to chassis setup that PAS has never had in the past.  He likes to take on track cars as a project, he understands and correctly knows how to corner balance cars, the importance of dialing in a racecar for the driver’s needs and how they react to each and every track.  It’s not just a one size fits all chassis setup when it comes to Chris.

His fabrication skills have been tested when it came to building a racecar out of a stock 2011 Mustang GT off the dealer’s lot in a matter of weeks and he rose to the task and blew us all away with his ability to make things work when it was purely up to him and his fab abilities to get it done.  Whether it’s a small job or something that requires days of fab work, he’s up to the task.

As a tech, Chris’ experience is hard to beat.  He was a full certified tech at a local Ford dealership well before his days at PAS and is fully Ford trained on SVT vehicles, Diesels, and literally every other category they had.  He was the ONLY fully-certified tech at his dealership.  His experience as a dealer tech helps him greatly in knowing the normal problems that arise in certain customer’s cars that we deal with today at PAS.

When Chris isn’t at PAS (which doesn’t leave much time) he’s helping crew for Shayne Lockhart’s Late Model Stock Car, #95.
